Manjuyod White Sand Bar Adventure

May 02, 2017

Manjuyod Sand Bar is what most people call as the Maldives of the Philippines. I have been to this place a few years back when I was around 7 years old, and it still has that beautiful scenery. This trip was made for my grandfather's 69th birthday and for a little bonding with our family and friends.

We went dolphin watching first before reaching proper Manjuyod. It actually took us a lot of time to find the dolphins, but the adventure was totally worth it. After seeing the dolphins, we decided to go back near the cottages for a dip, while eating our lunch... or should I say brunch.

It was high tide by the time we reached the area to swim. We had to wait for hours 'til low tide. There were fishermen selling sea urchins and coconuts around the area, and so my mom's sister opted a couple of sea urchins for her friends to eat. Didn't bother to try though, but according to them, it was delicious.

My favourite part was riding the banana boat. It was not scary, it was exciting! I wanted to ride it over and over again until I'm sated.

At 2:30 PM, we finally decided to call it a day. We couldn't wait for low tide anymore. We've been there for almost 5 hours. And that is the saddest part of this trip, we didn't get to see the actual sandbar. I suggest before you plan on going to Manjuyod White Sandbar, check the tide forecast firstWhite Sand Bar is definitely a must-visit!
