Outfits Costing Less Than A Hundred

January 21, 2017

I don't remember how I exactly knew about thrift shopping but I'm pretty sure I learned it from my mom. A lot of people around me seem to like some of my Outfit of the Days (OOTD), that is why I got used to saying the phrase, "ukay ra ni."

There are so many reasons to love thrift shopping. One, because it is not exorbitant and high-priced at all. This could actually help in budgeting. Clothes in the thrift store are also one of a kind. They are unique and could possibly be very valuable. Some of them may also be of a very good quality and may be so hard to find.

Below are a few of my thrifted clothes and how I style them!

1. POLO CROPPED TOP
My sky blue polo cropped top is paired with my green jogger pants. I don't remember which thrift store I bought my polo but my joggers are from Lucky 99, Co. for only P99! This polo was from the men's section and I only trimmed it to look more stylish.

2. OFF-SHOULDER BOHEMIAN TOP
My mom bought me this very cute off-shoulder top from the thrift store here in Dumaguete for only P50. I paired it with an overall that I bought from APM, Cebu (Infront of SM City) for only P250.

3. DARK DENIM DOLPHIN SHORTS
There was this house in my aunt's neighborhood in Mabolo Cebu where they sold a bunch of thrift clothes. I bought five pairs of shorts including this dark denim dolphin shorts (which are actually a little too tight for me but who cares). They only cost P50 each! The clothes they sell were pretty good, too. I prefer buying shorts because they have so many good ones! Also, my top is from Grand Mall Talamban (PHP 89).

4. SHEER GREY TOP + HIGH-WAIST SHORTS
These shorts was one of the five pair of shorts I bought in Mabolo, while my top is from Villa Amada (if that's how you spell it). All in all this outfit cost only less than a hundred. Underneath my top is a lace bralette from Cangs, Inc.

5. ZARA TANK TOP & LACEY SCALLOP
My loose tank top is branded Zara which I found in Villa Amada for only P50, and my scallop shorts is from a thrift house in Mabolo. All in all cost was only PHP 100.

I don't think thrift shopping is something to be ashamed of. It can actually help us create our own style of fashion. It is based on the looks and not on how much it costs.

Here's a few tips on thrift shopping:

1. Wear a nose mask at the thrift store.
2. Pick clothes with cute colors! (I suggest pastels, navy blue and monochromes)
3. Pick out clothes with cute patterns like checkered and florals
4. Better try them on before buying because you might regret it.
5. When buying bottoms, try them on rather than neck measuring.
6. WASH THE CLOTHES RIGHT AFTER BUYING THEM!!!
7. Make your own style!
